The Indiana Hand Center: Corporate Physician Assistant

Job Description: The primary responsibility is to provide initial evaluation and management for patients referred to the Indiana Hand Center on an urgent/emergent basis. This encompasses patients referred directly to the office as well as consultations requested by the hospital and emergency room. The corporate physician assistant, after reviewing all cases with a supervising physician, provides initial treatment including manipulative fracture care, wound debridement and closure, extensor tendon repair, nail bed repair, wound exploration, revision amputation, and other indicated minor procedures. PA is also responsible for coordination of care with consulting physicians, and other duties and responsibilities delegated by the supervising physician. The corporate physician assistant is also available to provide first assistant duties in the operating room. First assist duties include all upper extremity orthopaedic and hand scheduled, elective, and emergent cases.
